West Sacramento has been steadily reshaping its identity over the past 15 years. Once viewed mainly as the industrial edge of the capital, it’s now becoming one of the region’s most dynamic areas. The Bridge District continues to grow, West Capitol Avenue is building a stronger restaurant and local business scene, and neighborhoods across the city reflect a blend of older bungalows being renovated alongside newer developments and continued investment.
Fort Ross Siding & Windows has worked in West Sacramento for years. We know the housing stock, the postwar cottages near Reed Avenue, the older two-stories closer to the Sacramento River waterfront, the mid-century homes throughout Broderick and Bryte, and the newer construction in the Bridge District. Each neighborhood has its own character, and our work reflects that.
We're going to give you the process in plain language, without the marketing gloss. Call us, and we schedule a visit at a time that works for you. We come out, inspect the windows you’re concerned about, take precise measurements for any replacements, and talk through what matters most, comfort, appearance, budget, and timeline.
We recommend products based on your home's actual needs. For most West Sacramento homes, that means dual-pane windows with a climate-appropriate Low-E coating and argon fill in a high-quality vinyl or fiberglass frame. If your situation warrants something different, wood-clad frames for a historic property, triple-pane for a particularly challenging exposure, specific grid patterns to match existing architectural character we'll tell you why and show you what it looks like.
We custom-order every window to match your exact rough opening measurements, no exceptions. That means no forcing standard sizes to fit, no excessive shimming, and no relying on foam or filler to compensate for a poor fit. The goal is a precise installation that seals correctly and performs the way it’s designed to.

Before You Call Anyone, Read This
Is the rough opening inspection included?
Some contractors skip this step or charge separately for addressing what they find. Know upfront what happens if there's moisture damage behind your current windows.
How is water management handled?
Ask specifically about sill pan flashing, head flashing, and flashing tape at the nailing fin. A contractor who can't describe this process clearly is telling you something important.
What does the warranty actually cover?
Distinguish between manufacturer product warranty and contractor workmanship warranty. Both matter. Only the workmanship warranty covers installation error
Is haul-away included?
Old windows and job debris should leave with the contractor. Confirm this before signing anything.
Is the license current?
Verify at cslb.ca.gov. An unlicensed contractor has no CSLB bond and no accountability framework. It matters.
